"I moved To new york city in 2012 to attend Fashion Institute of Technology, but I grew up in the north of Sweden. Growing up, i overcame a serious childhood illness, and as hard at that was, it made me rise to be a fighter. To be honest what saved me was really my work and my dream of becoming a fashion designer. Once I found my calling for making beautiful things, I realized there was something more important in my life than being the skinniest person in the room. As part of my therapy, I wrote a book about my struggle with eating disorders. During that time of my recovery, my stepfather had a very sudden heart attack. The last thing he ever said to me was to go out into the world and chase my dreams. So, once my book got picked up and published, I used the money to move to New York and attending FIT.
In may 2016 I'm graduating from FIT:s Bachelor's program in Fashion Design. At FIT, I chose to specialize in Intimate Apparel because it is my belief that a perfect fit is the most integral feature of a garment, and I wanted to go into a program that would give me the technical skills needed to ensure this in every design. I will be the second male to ever graduate from this specialization, and have been trained on a couture level. As a result I have been very fortunate to receive scholarships from the Swedish Trade Federation, Vasternorrlands County Council in Sweden, and Helge Ax:son Johnsons foundation for artistic studies.
I have interned for brands such as luxury lingerie Kiki de Montparnasse, resort wear Lotta Stensson, ready-to-wear LOVE by Diego Binetti and corset expert and costumier Garo Sparo. Besides this, throughout college I have been freelancing, doing projects such as costume design for one of Sweden's best dance companies, and work for private clientele. I think it's fair to say I have gotten somewhat of a well-rounded taste of all different kinds of markets in the fashion industry, and I'm excited to see what is next!"
